OOTD: White Lacey Rain

Gold head piece~Charity shop
White lace dress~Primark~£17
Green tights~New Look~£2.99?
Brown boots~Vintage Clarks~eBay

Today was spent with my little sister, drinking lots of tea and watching an awful film, whilst trying to avoid the rain. A typical Tuesday really. The snaps above is the outfit I wore to my friend's birthday yesterday evening. I really love my new dress I picked up from Primark last week, the length and material are great. They also have the dress in black, so I might have to purchase that one too, as it is just really comfy and pretty. The hair is a bit of a mixture of ideas and probably a bit too odd, but I have always loved the Leia look and decided to put the gold head piece on my fringe for something a bit extra.I am currently really liking over the top headwear! The boots were a Christmas present from my boyfriend and I don't know if you noticed the fluffy ring I'm wearing, but I picked it up for just £1 in H&M and I think it's really sweet.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my previous post and I hope everyone is having a good week.

DIY: Customising A Skater Skirt

So I am doing something a little bit different today, I am trying my hand at a DIY post. I always see really great ones on blogs and although I am not the most skilled or neat person when it comes to making things, I thought adding details to a skirt couldn't go a miss.

What you'll need
Skater skirt~Mine was a velvet green one which you can see here
Iron on flowers or patterns
Lace
Needle and thread
Iron

Step 1~ Place the iron on pieces where you would like them to go on your skirt. Making sure they are evenly spaced and balanced.

Step 2~ Iron the little pieces on, until they are completely secure

Step 3~ Lay your lace at the bottom of the skirt where you would like it to sit, pin in if you wish.

♥ Step 4~Sew in the lace, either by hand or with a machine.I had to shoddily do mine by hand,so please ignore that it is a bit uneven, but oh well eh?

♥ Step 5~ That is pretty much it! Try on and style to your hearts content. You could even add more lace or iron on flowers!

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial, I thought it was a really nice way to add your own twist to a simple skirt. I am going to try and do a few more DIY type posts, just to try and gain confidence in making creative bits and bobs.

Also for any of you into beauty, there is a really great giveaway going on over at the lovecats inc blog and it is really worth entering, as there are some lovely treats to be won!

Style Icon #7: Audrey Horne

Three ways to describe her style: Feminine, Classy, Sultry

Oh Audrey, what I would do to be a bit like you. Twin Peaks was the most amazing series I have probably ever watched, each character was so significant and it was just so wonderfully weird. Audrey wasn't my favourite character , but I loved her sense of style and her oddness. Tartan and brogues are always a positive for me and so that makes Audrey Horne my seventh style icon.

I'd love to hear your style icons too!

OOTD:January Snow

Blouse~Charity Shop
Dress~Primark (Old)
Shoes~Vintage
I know I am about the thousandth person to wake up with snow and about the millionth person to blog about it, but in my opinion snow pictures are always so pretty and each one is slightly different. My housemate and I decided to go out in bare legs as a sort of dare and these pictures were taken just before running inside and putting our feet under the hot tap!
It was lovely to have a snow day and get lots of bits down whilst watching the snowflakes from my window.
Hope you all had a lovely day enjoying the snow too!

OOTD: A Velvet Cat

Velvet Top~eBay~£20
Cat skirt ~Vintage Style Me~ £20
Brogues~Primark~£10

Isn't the weather cold! My thoughts of an early spring now seem a bit far fetched. But oh well, my amazing new cat floral skirt from Vintage Style me came this morning and I couldn't be happier with it. It is the perfect length, with a very sweet lace trim and of course a cat print is always a positive. I teamed it with this green velvet top from eBay, which is one of my favourite things in my wardrobe. I wasn't sure if the print and velvet  would be too much but I think it works ok.

A snow storm is expected tonight, exciting!

Top 5: Fragrances

This deep purple, mysterious fragrance has fast become one of my favourites. I've always really liked GHOST's feminine and deep scents. I wrote a full review for the magazine here, if you'd like a peek.

DOLCE & GABBANA~ The one
I had been lusting after this for a long while and it had always been just a little out of my price range. So I got the gift set from the Boots sale, for quarter of the price, much to my delight. The scent last for hours and is strong but not potent. When you're next in a perfume selling type place then I would definitely recommend having a sniff, if you haven't already!

The Body Shop~Vanilla body mist
Having bought this for years and years it's about time I gave it the credit it deserves. It is cheap as chips for a start, great to cool off with in the heat and it also smells so summery and authentic. I normally use it as a  base scent for daytime and then spritz a stronger smell on top for the evening, because it usually blends really well with other scents.

Daisy Pour Femme
I got this on eBay, only to discover it was a fake. But oh well, it still smells really similar to the Marc Jacobs one. This scent is very fruity and girly and I mainly use it in Spring/Summer time. If this doesn't make you want to run through a some sort of field then I don't know what will.

Although Paris Hilton is renowned for many a negative thing, I actually really like her original perfume. It cost around £10 and smells really unusual and unique. I would really recommend giving it a go, I'm currently on my third bottle!

If you'd like to tell me your favourite scents then I would love to hear them!

OOTD: Victory Roll And A Mustard Beret

Mustard Beret~H&M~£2(Sale)
Dress~Topshop~£20(Sale)
Hamper~Charity shop~£6
Boots~Thrift shop in Paris~£15

So far 2013 has been lovely, a breath of fresh air. I have spent the last few days with my little sister and we went for a stroll around the park near me, hence the hamper. For our travels I went for a victory roll hair style and it turned out OK for once! Having curly hair is often limiting in terms of keeping up with hair trends etc and so I was happy to still be able to create a vintage look with my locks.
My dress and hat are high-street finds in the sale and the hamper was a Christmas present. I really love my little lace-up boots with fur trim, I got them back in 2009 when I was in Paris. They are pretty much falling to pieces now so I am trying to get the last few wears out of them.

Hope January is treating you all well, Spring feels like it's just around the corner now!
