It's A Lighthouse Thing

Beret~Accessorize/Shirt~H&M/Trousers~Topshop/ Shoes~Topshop

Hello Beauts and Happy Monday!

Since moving back to Devon it has been so lovely to just be able to venture out to the coast and breathe in that sea air, whenever I need to blow away those cobwebs. Even with the weather getting increasingly more cold and like days drawing in quickly- there is always time for a stroll.

After re watching Moonrise Kingdom a week or so ago, I put myself on a mission-
to find the perfect lighthouse!
A little bit of an odd request, but I definitely found a few contenders.
The red and white stripey one, with its miniature windows and colourful paint was my favourite-it even matched my tartan trousers!

As you may have also noticed, my blog has had a little update. My wonderful wonderful friend Ru designed my brand new banner and I am just so in love with it. She managed to capture the essence of everything I wanted my blog to be- I hope you like it too :)

I simply cannot believe it is December in a few days, Christmas is just around the corner
and I desperately need to get organised. Especially as I am cooking for six this year!

Do you have any great Christmas traditions? I would love to hear them.

Lots of love always

Monday- Rusty Railway

Beret~H&M/ Turtleneck~Primark/ Pinafore~Mod Dolly

Happy Monday folks!

What a lovely start to the week, the sun is still shining and if you manage to stay out of the wind, there is still a warmth in the air.
I had a day off work and so I decided to go and have a little adventure down by the old railway tracks near my town.

The station itself is so lovely, covered in flowers, pastel guttering and vintage adverts. It is in its own little time warp and is completely silent-apart from the 12 o'clock steam train.

I felt the need to channel one of my favourite films 'The Railway Children' and hop on and off of the old rusty carriages and grassy green tracks. My tartan pinafore from Mod Dolly I have had for a few years now and it never fails to see me through the Autumn/ Winter months.

From now on I am going to make the most of my days off, as there are so many quaint little places for a stroll around Devon.
You honestly never know what you will stumble across.

I will be cooped up working in the Pharmacy until Sunday now, so fresh air and beautiful landscapes are always very welcome.

I do hope your week has begun with a positive bang!

Lots of love always

Annual Autumn Wardrobe Essentials

Autumn Staples

As the nights draw in earlier and the frosty air starts to take its first steps, it's time we start thinking about more layering and appropriate attire for the months ahead.

I thought I would share with you some bits and bobs,
that always get me through this time of year.
My essentials,
my staples.

Tartan Skirt
Skirt~Primark

Firstly, is my beloved Tartan skirt. I got this a few years back, from trusty old Primark and find myself wearing it constantly throughout the Autumn period.

For a start, tartan as a pattern is very festive indeed.
But the fabric itself, combined with the pleats create warmth
and give the skirt a more cosy feel.

TurtleNeck Jumper
Gold glitter turtleneck~Beyond Retro

It probably goes without saying, but you can never have enough jumpers to smother yourself in when it is nippy outside. I have a really problem with getting the chills (my circulation is a complete mess), so it is imperative I keep a little less reptilian in Autumn.

Turtlenecks are a great way to warm your whole upper body.
A lot of heat is kept in your neck and your head, so it is important
to keep those bits as hot as possible.

I got this glittery number from Beyond Retro a few years back and it has been doing me a world of good ever since.

Beret
Mustard Beret~Vintage

Okay, so I may be a bit biased when it comes to berets...as my collection of them is obscene-but they are the most important part of this list.

As I mentioned before it is super important that you keep your head warm and so why not do it in style?
Berets make every outfit just that little bit more perky and
I am a real fan of things both practical and pretty.

 Boots
Lace-up boots~Clarks

Whether they be chunky, Chelsea, ankle or knee-high- Autumn is the perfect time to purchase a pair of good old stomping boots.

They come in handy when kicking leaves, treading carefully on icy ground or just having shoes big enough to wear over fluffy socks.

I paired my outfit with these brown lace/zip-up boots from Clarks. They seem to go with most of the earthy and mustard shades of the season and more importantly they are just so comfy!

What are your Autumn Staples?

XOXO

Beret~accessorize/Top~The Real McCoy/Pinafore~Mod Dolly/ Bag~Vintage/Shoes~Topshop

Hello again my dears,
I have to confess now, I have done nothing this past week except for watch Gossip Girl from the beginning on Netflix. I have become addicted....again.
October is here and so I thought I would combine my two current loves at the moment;Autumn attire and trying to channel my inner Blair Waldorf . She is one of my biggest style icons and even though trying to even touch her perfect style is impossible, I wanted to try and incorporate pieces from my wardrobe that were somewhat Waldorf like.
This season for me is all about greens, yellows and purples. So my beloved Mod Dolly pinafore is always a favourite, especially this time of year. Berets are also an essential for me and this mustard one has seen me through a few good years of chilly weather.

Who is your biggest style icon and what are your favourite shades to wear in autumn?

Lots of Love

OOTD: September Tartan

Beret~Accessorize
Dress~Primark
Shoes~Office
Bag~Chairty shop

Hello lovelies! I can't believe we have already breezed into September, is it just me or has this year been going incredibly fast? Brrr, Oh my there was a bit of a chill in the air this weekend, it is starting to feel all Autumnal-my favourite season of them all!  I went to Hyde Park festival on Saturday and was absolutely chilled to the bone by midday, it rained and poured and then the sun came out and we all got sun burned. It was a very weird mix of weather, but the music was nice and it was great to have a day off work and wear my new dress. I spotted this tartan number in Primark at the beginning of the week, I saw a blur of red patterned fabric in the corner of my eye and immediately fell in love with it when my head turned. Primark have some really nice things at the moment, I need to pick up some bits and bobs next week and might try and grab some of the things I spied before. For only £15 I thought this dress was a great buy and the collar and bow detail really add to the sweetness of it. As usual despite the rain I decided to go a bit mad with colour co-ordination, hence the red bows etc. I think this season I really need to invest in a pair of trousers, as I officially own none except Pajama trousers- if only they were acceptable to go to work in!

How has everyone spent the first week of the new month? Are you looking forward to the new season?
