Pagan Poetry

Hello loves,

Every so often these days I find myself dreaming of a much more simple lifestyle. One in which looking at my phone as soon as I open my eyes is much less important than looking out of the window and sniffing the air, as it switches from summer to the beginning scents of autumn.
A couple of weeks ago when my mother and I took these pictures in a wheat field, with the wind blowing in our hair and the view of the moors against the mustard shades of the crops, it made me remember just how important little moments like those are, amongst the hustle and bustle of the lives we lead.
This cotton dress has never made me feel more free, I felt like a Pagan bride with my bunch of hand-picked flowers and bare feet. If I ever was to get married, it would definitely be outdoors.

My best friend and I are trying to book a holiday for September, somewhere to celebrate our 23rd year of friendship. Where we can drink wine, sit in the warmth and reminisce over the best memories we have shared and all the new ones that are to follow. If you have any ideas or experiences around Europe that you would like to share, I would love to hear.

Lots of love always

Crimson & Hydrangeas

A big warm welcome to August, with a big basket of hydrangeas and a very, very greasy fringe (my apologies). This time of year my hair just seems to love to stick to my face.

Another few weeks have passed and it seems that life is continuing on the up and up. The fields are growing crops quicker by the day and despite the on and off rain, the vibe around seems positive and bright.

I picked up this red number in New Look of all places, not my usual stop-off point when I'm having a good old shop, but I thought I would have a browse- Oh, boy am I glad I did.
It was on an ever so warm day and I was desperately, clanging through the rails looking for something less clammy and heavy to wear than the leather jacket and jeans I was donning on that day. This crimson treat caught my eye and low and behold it was also in the sale, a very sweet treat. It has all the feels of a vintage piece, but with as couple more buttons and a cheeky slit up the side. Paired with my favourite beret, I went off to pick some wild flowers with my mum.

I need to actually start doing more with all of the dried flowers I have poking out of every crevice in my room.If anyone has any suggestions or DIY ideas then I would love to hear them.

Just a quick post today, as I am about to catch up with the new series of Game Of Thrones- yay!

I have an updated room tour post/ video in the pipeline, so hopefully that will be up soon :)

Lots of love always

Steam Train Station Of Blooms

Top~Zara/ Culottes~Zara/ Shoes~Primark/ Bag~ Market

Hello my dears and welcome to mid-summer,

July is a special month, just over half-way through the year and questioning how much we have achieved, what we hope to gain and often opportunities we wish we had grabbed in the moment. Overall, it is a month full of thought and more often than not, dabbles of sunshine and blue skies.

Drying flowers has continued to be one of my biggest enjoyments, watching them initially give life into my room in a vase and then over time watching them crisp, keep their colour and sit in amongst their petal friends in various wicker baskets around my room. Wow, that was a sentence you needed to take a big breath before saying. I know a great little place that does fresh bunches that won't burn a hole in your pockets and it has become a Sunday tradition to travel there and pick up a couple of varieties on my weekends off.

Sometimes I feel like I am living in a time warp, the steam train station in the pictures above is quite literally like walking out of a book you would read growing up in the 50's. Big, bold vintage signs cover the brick walls and I have never seen a station so filled with colourful flowers and character. You can sit on one of the vintage benches, watch the stream and listen out for the smoke puffing out of the chimney as the train approaches the corner.

Life is giving me lemons at the moment, I can feel the citrus on my skin and am embracing all that it has to offer me whilst I can. Freckles are appearing from nowhere all over my limbs and I feel very lucky to have had a little burst of brightness in my life recently. Long may the positivity last, for everyone.

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and surrounded by wonderful people and nature.

Lots of love always

Daisies & My Dream Dress

Beret~Vintage/ Dress~Mod Dolly

Hey loves and Happy Thursday,

England has been immersed in trickling sunshine this week, as those rays have been hitting the streets like golden ribbons. Everything is in bloom and it's that perfect time in May between Spring and Summer, when everything is colourful and everything is truly alive. Hence why this month will always have the warmest of places in my heart.

Earlier this week I was gifted with the most beautiful of dresses from one of my favourite brands, Mod Dolly. As you know anything floral I am bound to adore and this delightful dress is no exception. The sleeves are ever so whimsical and great for spinning around near a bush in, one of my many favourite past times. I took these pictures whilst in an allotment, I was trying to find some herbs to put on some roast potatoes and saw this marvelous yellow blossom. So after filling my pockets with rosemary and thyme, queue some Simon and Garfunkel... we took some snaps in front of it. I also lay in a bunch of daisies, because they match the dress and hey ho, I am a sucker for blending. I also managed to take some of those home too, to press and dry. The never ending appreciation for flowers eh?

Wishing you all a wonderful upcoming weekend, after all the horribleness that happened earlier this week- I hope everyone is well and let's enjoy the sunshine and look after one another.

Lots of love always
