Another Year Older

Dress~Beyond Retro/ Faux fur sash~Beyond Retro/ Earrings~Vintage

So, on Monday I celebrated my birthday... my 24th birthday to be exact. Even writing this now I still can't believe that is my age. It seems only a day ago that I was turning 18 and moving to London on my own. Now it is a whole 6 years later!

I spent the day wearing this glorious, floor-length dress from Beyond Retro, which I picked up on my trip to Brighton. Walking around I got a few odd looks, some good some bad, but I just thought it's my birthday and I will dress how I want :)

I spent the day with my nearest and dearest and kept it minimal with carrot cake and goblets of cherry vodka. Walking around Regent's Park in the warm weather was also a lovely end to the day.

My aim is to really embrace being 24, even if I feel like I am turning 56.... there are always exciting things happening just around the corner!

Turning 22

Head crown~Roses & Clementines/ Dress~Generation Collective

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday, I am always a bit skeptical about having a party or how to celebrate and so this year I decided to have a picnic. Originally I was going to have a picnic in a park, but seeing as the weather was a bit fickle I decided to have one indoors. My housemate and I decided to make an indoor tent by sewing all of our duvets together and making a huge Moroccan type tent in the living room. We filled it with fresh flowers, pillows and lots of jam tarts and cocktails.

I had been waiting to wear this amazing pink dress from Generation Collective on etsy, I fell in love with its vintage frills and Little Bo Peep style and decided to treat myself for my birthday. The lovely flower crown I am wearing is from Roses & Clementines, I got it custom made especially to go with the dress and I was so delighted with how lovely it was and how much it matched my outfit.

I had a lovely day despite the rain and enjoyed dressing up and being surrounded by my nearest and dearest friends.

I hope everyone is enjoying this month of May and hopefully a bit more sunshine is just around the corner!
