Turning 26~ Belated Edition

Gypsy Top~ Vintage / Dress used as skirt~Beyond Retro

Hello there and Happy Sunday,

It seems all of my posts are a bit belated recently, maybe it is the fact that I have now reached my late twenties- perhaps my mind is going and I am getting increasingly more slow haha. Well at least I hope not.

Anyway, on the 11th of May I turned 26, an age I never really thought about in terms of how I would see myself by then or how I pictured my situation in general would be. The previous year when I turned 25 I felt that was a large milestone and the whole year was magical for me. I managed to travel to a fair few countries, get a new job, move to Devon and find some new kindred spirits. So as long as this coming year of age is anything in comparison to how the last twelve months have been, then I will be one happy young/old lady.

These flower filled pictures were taken in the most picturesque village of Lustleigh,a few weeks back. It's one of those little quiet places, hidden away, but somehow always manages to win awards for 'Best Town' etc. It really is like a fairy land and I used to spend hours playing by the stream when I was a child.
We went there the day after they had celebrated their May day and every year they cover a large rock and throne with wild and garden flowers and crown a May Queen. We were so thrilled to see that the little chair was still there smothered in petals and I practically leaped up there to sit inside the colourful blossoms.

We also meandered through the old apple orchard and I refused to wear shoes the entire afternoon. It was a very special day to commemorate turning another year older, so let's see what the future will bring for this 26 year old.

Marrakech Part One: Jardin Majorelle

Hey loves,
I thought I would do my trip to Marrakech in a few parts, because there are so many pictures you would be scrolling through for days. I managed to narrow it down to my favourite places and favourite snippets, so let's get going.

Before we had even booked our trip and we were still browsing and deciding which destination to choose, the Majorelle gardens popped up as one of the best places to go in Morocco and as soon as we saw the vibrant blue and yellow colours, we were sold.

The gardens were created by Yves Saint Laurent and are situated a little out of the main parts of the bustling city. We did originally try to walk there but we ended up getting very, very lost and hailed a taxi to save us from the heat and our swollen sandle feet.
As we arrived it was as if we'd been transported to a completely different universe, one of tranquility colour and millions of plants and birds. It was literally like going to heaven. We walked around the gardens several times, took a million snaps and videos. Posed infront of cacti and watched turtles swimming amongst the lilypads on the pond.

This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip and although the gardens are relatively small, they are so jam packed with things to see, that you get dizzy in awe of all of the delights.

We got ice-cream, a very popular thing to do in the city and sat on the curb in the sun as we braced ourselves to go back to reality. We took a deep breath and walked back to the Medina, ready for the next part of our adventure.

Part Two coming soon....

Crop tops and culottes

Top~Topshop/ Culottes Hnm/ Shoes~Primark

Hey again my dears,

I cannot believe it is the 1st of May today, this year is steaming along like a train. It's my birthday very soon and as usual I am feeling a little anxious about turning that one year older. 26 to be exact. Or late twenties, as they say. But I am just going to embrace it and try to tick off a little list of things I would like to do before then.

This delightful little crop top I purchased a few weeks back and I just can't get enough of it. I am really enjoying all of the gypsy and hippy style pieces I am seeing on the high-street these days and it is making me really try to branch out with my outfits.

I am trying to save up to buy an old gypsy wagon to do up and live- in during the summer months. It is a plan in its very very early stages, but I am slowly realising what I want to do with my life and saying to most things these days 'why not'?

I hope you have all enjoyed this extended weekend, despite the rain. But peonies are going to be in season soon and those always brighten up any day.

Lots of love always

The Colours Of Spring

Top~Zara/ Trousers~ Vintage/ Earrings~Forever 21/ Bindis~ Market

Hello my dears,

Another Bank holiday is upon us, how lovely to have an extra day to catch up with bits and bobs. These snaps were actually taken on the Easter bank holiday a few weeks back, so I thought I would try to sneak them into this bank holiday post instead. Although, I have just looked out of my window and the rain is absolutely pouring down, what a contrast to the sunny days just past. Oh well, Sunday's were made for being cosy and curious.

So, when my mum and I were driving back from the garden center a few weeks back, we saw this rapeseed field on the side of the road. The light that was bouncing off of the bright yellow petals was so magical that it was impossible not to take a few pictures. Also, with the opposing greying sky it was truly a moment immersed in the most beautiful of nature. It reminded me of a Depeche Mode album cover I have somewhere in my collection. We had a good sniff of the pollen and ran through the waist-high  stems. Anyway, I really enjoyed it as you can probably tell haha.

I've just got back from a week in Marrakech, so expect a couple of big old posts about the trip and some good places to go if you fancy having a holiday there too.

Hope you have a wonderful bank holiday.

Lots of love always
